我們?yōu)楹味O(shè)計(jì)?追逐商業(yè)利益?承擔(dān)社會(huì)責(zé)任?實(shí)現(xiàn)用戶(hù)需求?還是滿(mǎn)足自我意淫?亦或是達(dá)成某種欲望的工具?
 
 
一臺(tái)工業(yè)革命之初的電扇,一把清代的門(mén)鎖,一臺(tái)20世紀(jì)60年代的 收音機(jī)……楊明潔將他十多年間的上千件收藏品陳列的他的私人博物館中,通過(guò)時(shí)間軸的對(duì)比研 究,揭示了中國(guó)兩百多年的工業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)斷代史及其影響與后果。
 
曾經(jīng)有一位法國(guó)的記者問(wèn)楊明潔:“什么是中國(guó)的設(shè)計(jì)?比如說(shuō),日本的設(shè)計(jì)是極簡(jiǎn)?”在當(dāng)下的中國(guó),強(qiáng)調(diào)什么是中國(guó)的設(shè)計(jì)?究竟是民族 的自卑感還是自尊心在設(shè)計(jì)中的體現(xiàn)?楊明潔展示了歷年來(lái)所囊獲的包括德國(guó)紅點(diǎn)獎(jiǎng),iF獎(jiǎng),日本G-MARK獎(jiǎng)以及美國(guó)IDEA獎(jiǎng)在內(nèi)的的部分作品,比較 Dieter Zimmer 的設(shè)計(jì)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)與 Dieter Rams 的設(shè)計(jì)十誡,來(lái)闡述什么是優(yōu)良產(chǎn)品的設(shè)計(jì)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
 
設(shè)計(jì)不是無(wú)聊的自我表達(dá),而是應(yīng)該創(chuàng)造完美用戶(hù)體驗(yàn)。訂書(shū)釘?shù)乃?種訂法與洗手間的蒼蠅——楊明潔從細(xì)節(jié)入手,探討了用戶(hù)研究與服務(wù)設(shè)計(jì)。

《楊明潔設(shè)計(jì)發(fā)現(xiàn)之旅》一書(shū)以“過(guò)去 - 當(dāng)下 - 未來(lái)”為線(xiàn)索貫穿, 展示了工業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)師楊明潔的設(shè)計(jì)哲學(xué)與邏輯思考,并從歷史、人文、 社會(huì)、生活等因素來(lái)講述設(shè)計(jì)背后的有趣故事。
 
gives a clue which is future depends on the past only through the present, and illustrates Jamy YangMingjie, a famous Chinese industrial designer’s design philosophy and logical aesthetic thinking. It goes through factors of history, human culture, society and living life to tell interesting stories related to design. Based on time segments and comparative study on his abundant collections, such as an old fan from the beginning of industrial revolution, a lock from QING Dynasty, a radio from 1960s… Jamy has discovered a gap of industrial history in China over one hundred year, and raised a couple of questions – What contemporary Chinese design emphasizes is to show national inferiority complex or national pride? Jamy presents part of award-winning projects including Red Dot, iF, G-Mark, IDEA to illustrate standards for judging a good design. Design is not a boring way of expressing designer self but making sure to create perfect user experiences. Interesting findings like four binding ways of staple and fly-design in wash room… Jamy tries to explore details for discussion on user study and service design. Further focus on vision of design, Jamy leverages diversified elements to inspire public and think about design trend and industry future by CMF innovation lab demonstration, sub-culture lifestyle workshop and 2015~2016 design trends presentation.

……In a word, the past two hundred years can be regarded as the disappearing times of Chinese industrial design developing history.The level of product design in one country mainly bases on the development of national industry basis. The U.S.A. has best information technology products, such as Apple, because the information industry in the U.S.A. is leading in the world. The furnitures and fashion products from Italy sell well all over the world because Italy has the industry basis born out of handicraft art……

In other words, they are not only selling the products but also the product design standards to the whole world. It is a whole industry chain, in which design standards and awards are just part of it. 第三章 筷子與刀叉 – 產(chǎn)品設(shè)計(jì)的國(guó)家性與民族性
 
……與筷子一脈相承的還有中國(guó)的馬褂與旗袍,一快布往身上一披,留四個(gè)洞伸出頭、雙 手與雙腳。而西方的服裝如同刀叉一樣,基于功能的需要,演變得越來(lái)越細(xì)分。中國(guó) 傳統(tǒng)的馬褂、旗袍并沒(méi)有流傳下來(lái),或許旗袍還有人穿,但只是因其優(yōu)雅出現(xiàn)在某些 特定的場(chǎng)合,而并未成為主流。而筷子卻是流傳下來(lái)了,至今在整個(gè)亞洲依然廣泛使 用,為什么?因?yàn)榭曜右廊环袭?dāng)下人們的生活方式與審美情趣,旗袍或許依然符合 當(dāng)下人們的審美情趣,但已不符合當(dāng)下的生活方式。而馬褂兩者皆不符合,所以就進(jìn) 博物館了……
 
……Another two Chinese designs, long gown and ‘chi-pao’, are consistent with the chopstick thinking. A piece of cloth is cut out to body shape only leaving four holes for head, hands and feet, that is the contrast with western costume which has been evolving to more segmented. Chinese traditional long gown and ‘chi-pao’ were not handed down unfortunately, maybe ‘chi-pao’ still exists in people’s life but only shows up at an elegant and non-mainstream occasion. Meanwhile chopstick exists for widely using all over Asia, I wonder. Truth to be told, chopstick conforms to people’s way of living and aesthetic taste nowadays. Women still wear chi-pao occasionally for appreciation of its elegance although it is out of current lifestyle. Oppositely long gown was eliminated and people can only check it out in museum now……
 
……中國(guó)人的奢侈感之一,喜歡顯而易見(jiàn)的數(shù)量上的增加,喜歡可視化的、外在的價(jià)值感, 喜歡實(shí)實(shí)在在的材料。這是有其歷史原因的,事實(shí)上這是一種停留在農(nóng)業(yè)文明、手工 藝時(shí)代的審美價(jià)值觀(guān),因?yàn)橹袊?guó)有很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的農(nóng)業(yè)文明時(shí)代,而之后并沒(méi)有真正意義 地經(jīng)歷工業(yè)革命。隨后便直接跨入了信息時(shí)代……
 
……One of Chinese sense of luxury is preference of more in quantity, more visible and exposed value, more concrete materials. There is historical reason behind, actually Chinese sense of aesthetic value still remains in agricultural civilization and handicraft times. China experienced a very long agricultural civilization but not native industrial revolution and stepped into information times directly……
 
……中國(guó)人喜歡的大氣,其中的一層含義便是:我能夠占有比別人更多的資源或更大的空 間,這會(huì)讓我與眾不同,這會(huì)讓我很有面子,讓我有更高的心理地位。體現(xiàn)在飛機(jī)座 位的選擇上,會(huì)有一種明顯的等級(jí)排序關(guān)系。依次是頭等艙、商務(wù)艙、經(jīng)濟(jì)艙的第一 排、逃生通道的座位、靠走道的位置或是靠窗的位子,最差的是擠在中間的位置……
 
……The generous stuff Chinese people like, one of which means people think they can get more resources, larger space which can make them feel “face” and higher psychological position. It presents on flight seat choices, first class, business class, first row of economy class, seat at escape way, aisle seat or window seat and the worst is squeezing into middle seat……
 






 
第四章 廟宇與教堂 – 產(chǎn)品的品牌識(shí)別
 
……商業(yè)時(shí)代,許多品牌所追求的最高境界與宗教所要實(shí)現(xiàn)的目標(biāo)是一致的,他們需要如 教徒般忠誠(chéng)的品牌追隨者。對(duì)于商業(yè)時(shí)代的品牌體系而言,其中產(chǎn)品體系是其最核心 的一個(gè)部分,這是用戶(hù)最重要的品牌接觸點(diǎn),必須具備產(chǎn)品的品牌識(shí)別性……
 
……In commercial era, many brands are pursing the same goal just like religions and they need loyal believers and chasers. As for brand system in such a time, product system is the core part and that’s the most important touch point for users. So it must have brand identity for products……
 
……二戰(zhàn)以后的歐洲,由于物資的匱乏,一家企業(yè)只要有產(chǎn)品生產(chǎn)出來(lái),就能銷(xiāo)售。但很 快有越來(lái)越多的企業(yè)生產(chǎn)出了越來(lái)越多的產(chǎn)品,這個(gè)時(shí)候競(jìng)爭(zhēng)由一個(gè)單件的產(chǎn)品升級(jí) 到了一個(gè)體系的產(chǎn)品,進(jìn)而發(fā)展到了不同品牌體系的競(jìng)爭(zhēng),于是品牌間的差異化與個(gè) 性化顯得尤為重要。而產(chǎn)品的品牌識(shí)別性就是這一體系中重要的組成部分,它顯示這 一品牌與其他品牌之間的差異性……
 
……During shortage of supplies after the World War II, a company could sell any product as long as they were able to produce. Soon after, more and more companies can produce a lot of products. At that time the competition has been upgraded from one piece of product to a whole productization system, further it has become competition between different brand systems. Therefore differentiation and individuation plays very important roles, and product brand identity which can show differentiation and individuation is the key part……
 
……外包裝上設(shè)計(jì)了可供用戶(hù)攜帶的把手,減少了再次包裝的浪費(fèi)。中間的豎向凹槽增強(qiáng) 了結(jié)構(gòu)的強(qiáng)度。配以半透明磨沙的表面材質(zhì),隱約透出內(nèi)部酒瓶的輪廓、色彩與字體, 與外包裝的字體相疊,產(chǎn)生了有趣的視覺(jué)效果。在酒瓶取出后,外包裝有再利用的可 能性,它可以成為一個(gè)儲(chǔ)物盒、一個(gè)果盆、甚至是一盞燈……
 
……The design of packaging set the handle for the users to carry more easily, Again reducing packaging waste. The middle of the vertical groove enhances the strength of the structure. With translucent frosted surface material, it can show a faint outline of the inside bottle’s color and outline, and font. Also the inside fonts stacked with outside packaging, resulting in an interesting visual effect. After removing the bottle, packaging could also be re-used and it can become a storage box, a fruit bowl, or even a lamp……
 






 
第五章 訂書(shū)釘?shù)乃姆N訂法 – 用戶(hù)研究實(shí)驗(yàn)室
 
……我發(fā)現(xiàn),同樣訂在左上角,也會(huì)有不同的訂法:有平行于頁(yè)面頂端的,有垂直于頁(yè)面 頂端的,也有與頁(yè)面頂端成一角度斜訂的,而斜訂的角度有接近15度、30度、45度、 60度,或是徑向一下接近135度的。接下來(lái)的問(wèn)題是:究竟訂成哪一種角度是最合 理的?該如何回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題呢……
 
……I find that there are different methods even when the staples are all bound on the upper right. Some of the staples are parallel to the top, some are vertical to the top, and some are of a certain angle with the top, e.g. 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°or even 135°. So what is the most suitable angle between the staple and the top? And how shall we answer this question……

第六章 洗手間里的蒼蠅 – 公共與服務(wù)設(shè)計(jì)
 
……幾年前在德國(guó)的機(jī)場(chǎng)洗手間,發(fā)現(xiàn)在小便池里停著一只蒼蠅,于是不自覺(jué)地集中火力 對(duì)其掃射,但蒼蠅紋絲不動(dòng)。仔細(xì)一看,原來(lái)這是一只印在小便池表面的蒼蠅圖案。 有專(zhuān)業(yè)機(jī)構(gòu)做過(guò)統(tǒng)計(jì),由于這樣一個(gè)小小的設(shè)計(jì)創(chuàng)新使得小便池周邊的被污染率減少了80%……
 
……When I went to lavatory in airport in Germany years ago, I found out a fly in the urinal. I unconsiously peed on it but it stayed immobile. It turned out to be a fly pattern on the surface of urinal.From the survey of professional institution, a creative design like this is decreasing 80% of the pollution around urinal……
 
……在這套系統(tǒng)中,標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化與模塊化的設(shè)計(jì)原則是一個(gè)重要的設(shè)計(jì)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。由于國(guó)內(nèi)生產(chǎn)制造工藝的限制,還無(wú)法在整套公共設(shè)施中去實(shí)現(xiàn)由一個(gè)基礎(chǔ)構(gòu)件貫穿整套設(shè)計(jì),但在 同一類(lèi)別的產(chǎn)品系列中,我們實(shí)現(xiàn)了標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化、模塊化的設(shè)計(jì)原則……

Since the distrctuion of manufacture art in China, using a basic conponent in the design of whole public facility is not achievable. But in the product line of same category, we realize the design principle of standardization and modularization……
 


 
第七章 糾結(jié)的辦公椅 – 設(shè)計(jì)師的社會(huì)責(zé)任
 
……優(yōu)良的產(chǎn)品對(duì)于人類(lèi)與社會(huì)是友善的、環(huán)保的,產(chǎn)品的制造、使用 、報(bào)廢各環(huán)節(jié)有 利于節(jié)約能源與資源,符合可持續(xù)發(fā)展的原則;優(yōu)良的產(chǎn)品能夠傳達(dá)一種正面的社會(huì) 啟迪意義,傳播與啟蒙創(chuàng)新而有意義的生活理念與方式……
 
……It is the highest standard to judge a good product design from thinking of society – whether it’s humanoriented and eco-friendly, whether it saves energy and resources in the process of manufacturing, using and scrapping. A piece of good design is consistent with design strategy of sustainability and aiming to convey positive inspiration to society with creative and meaningful living philosophy……
 






 
第八章 未來(lái)的趨勢(shì)與前瞻的設(shè)計(jì)
 
……這是一種由于技術(shù)與工藝的革新導(dǎo)致的產(chǎn)品設(shè)計(jì)語(yǔ)言的改變。而這一改變創(chuàng)造了一種 新的美學(xué)標(biāo)準(zhǔn),一種不同于手工藝時(shí)代的美學(xué)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)——極簡(jiǎn)主義。所以,極簡(jiǎn)—— 這一流行到今天的美學(xué)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)最初是源于一場(chǎng)技術(shù)與工藝的革新,一種工藝的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)演變 成為一種美學(xué)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)……

Thus, minimalism as the popular aesthetic standard till today is exactly originated from innovation of technology and craftsmanship……

In recent years, there are increasing numbers of design with focus on craftsmanship, natural or real material. This objects, filled with cultural and living memories, have become luxuries that are getting rarer and rarer to find in our life……
